He absolutely overcharged for what he did. How about replacing 4 fluorescent bulbs, bypassing the ballast so the fixture did NOT have to be replaced and charged $375 even though he admitted the bulbs were less than $10 each. He said it was so expensive because electricians are expensive due to their training......
Expensive. I agreed to it so I can't be too negative but if my back wasn't out I could have saved a lot of money. Putting the ceiling fan up after all the support work (the things that take a smaller person in the attic and skills I don't have) was a bit excessive in my way of looking at things. They were both agreeable sorts and I am enjoying the fan.
I would like for everyone who is looking for an electric service not to hire Mr. Electric. It was not the quality of work because no work was done. I confirmed my appoint on 12/27/2018 with S. Young for a time span between 8-12. On the 28th the appt was reconfirmed. I expected the electrician to come within the stated time period. I have an older home and just moved in. I had several plugs that didn’t work and some switches we didn’t know where they went. The technition spent a lot of time with me sorting out what went where and fixing a lot of small issues with me. He installed an new plug and grounded some new plugs for me. He also installed two new recessed lights. He spent a lot of time helping just figure this house out for a relatively small amount of work that he charged. Was told the electrician would be at my house by 8:30. He didn’t show up until noon. Explained that I wanted to remove an old electric heater from the bathroom wall and install a new outlet in the same bathroom. He didn’t like where I said I wanted to install the outlet. So I’ll told him to just remove the electric heater from the wall since I was in the process of having that bathroom remodeled. He completed that. After we spoke yesterday I felt we cleared up the concerns you have about the 4 hour window and why when you called you were told by our answering service no one would be available until Monday and then you received a call directly from our office letting you know we would have someone out there Sunday to have your power back on. I hope you find it within yourself to give us another shot.
I do not understand why Mr. Electric sent a tech that had to drive one hour from south of Dallas to my residence rather than send a tech from a closer location. It was difficult to set their service arrival with my schedule.

They did a good job but they are extremely high priced. I’d look elsewhere for my next electrical work. It was almost $400 for a 220 install less than 2 feet from the breaker box.
I asked that they email us an estimate for the additional work they recommended they said they would but it never came.
