My mom and I did a sunset tour when we visited in August. We sailed on the Adirondack, which was perfect since that's the area we were visiting from! My mom was very nervous about a sailboat but once she saw how gorgeous it was and met our friendly captain, Ben- she was able to totally relax and enjoy. We sat near the captain and he answered all of our questions. This is not a narrated tour, which made it nice to just enjoy the scenic views. We ventured out on the Madeleine. The sailboat is beautiful and clean. We were impressed with the crew. Stu and Nolan were entertaining and accommodating. The captain, Phil, gave us a great ride! It was a perfect short cruise ( 90 minutes ) but a perfect length in my opinion. I would recommend going early as there are fewer people on the boat. Really great experience!
Really fun experience!! We decided to take a sailboat sunset cruise in Newport! We went with the 7 pm (90 min) cruise, so that we would still be out on the water during sunset (the neighboring cruise company had a sunset cruise at 6:30 pm, which would be "on the way back" during sunset). I prebooked a reservation for a 7:00 sunset cruise. I arrived at the dock at 6:40 and waited in the line that was in front of the booth for check in. When I checked in by showing my QR code and confirmation email, I was told that my cruise ship was not yet boarding, that this was the earlier ship, and to step to the side and wait for the 7:00 boarding. We took Madeline for a sunset cruise. We lucked out and had perfect weather. It was beautiful, peaceful and romantic. You were able to purchase drinks if you'd like and they were reasonably priced. In the past, we also did the rum runner and the Aquidneck cruise with champagne. Those cruises were amazing as well!
We boarded the Madeline for the sunset cruise . Great fun , engaged crew. Everyone of them deserves a gratuity! Capt. Charlie encouraged me to take the helm which I did and it was great fun. A perfect way to end the day before a romantic dinner with the wife.

This was the best boat ride! Champagne or beer included in our sunset cruise. The crew was very informative and funny at times. We called a couple other places and decided to walk the wharf. So great to get a last minute spot for 3 of us. Very picturesque!
My wife and I did the champagne sunset cruise and it was awesome! Everything was excellent including the reservation experience, follow up information regarding location, the boarding procedure, the ship, the crew and the sunset. The experience was 5 stars. We boarded at 6:30 pm and were sailing within 10 minutes after a short safety talk and explanation of the trip.
