I tried Nia's during restaurant week and what a great concept - Mediterranean tapas! Everything from the saganaki, to the potatoes to the gnochi to the strip steak, simply delish. Will be returning! Service was outstanding as well. Will be returning!
Went for restaurant week. Food was good but a bit overpriced. My favorite thing was the banana flambe dessert.
The staff was all GREAT! We got seated as soon as we arrived and had drinks waiting for another friend. Food was good but not exceptional. Very loud (in a good energetic way) place. Would go back but lots of other places will be hit first!
My husband and I went here during Restaurant Week, so we only tried their 8 course prix fixe meal. The bacon wrapped dates were amazing! Definitely a must have. The gnocchi and lamb meatballs were just delicious. I would also recommend their chocolate dessert. The rest of the courses (salad, potatoes, hummus, ceviche) were just okay. The atmosphere was nice, but I don't feel the need to go back again for a full meal. But maybe just for some bacon wrapped dates.... This is my favorite spot in Chicago. The food is phenomenal, the prices are very reasonable, and the ambiance is relaxing. My boyfriend and I are always here, and not once has it disappointed us. Great wine, scotch, and drink selection. You have to try the sangria!
We had attempted to go to another restaurant first during Restaurant Week, but that restaurant was severely underprepared and had run out of food. It was a blessing in disguise because the experience we had at Nia's exceeded everyone's expectations and we wholeheartedly believe that it trumped any experience we would have had at the first restaurant. We opted for the 10 course tasting menu and three of us opted for the wine pairings. The portions were perfect for adventurous eaters. Everything was cooked perfectly.
Made a reservation here because our first choice was fully booked for the night. The 4 of us opted for the $33/person prix-fixe menu of 8 tapas (including dessert) served family style. Given the caliber of other restaurants on this section of Randolph st., Nia is definitely not in the same league. The food was just ok, not very exciting. From the minute we walked in we knew the night was going to be great. Gaga, our hostess/server was friendly and accommodating starting with our first cocktail. The tasting menu was versatile and very fresh and tasty. We can not say enough great things about our service and the food. Accommodating 6 adults (2 vegans), and a 2 & 7 yr old is next to impossible. Yet, Gaga and her team did the impossible. We can't wait to go back!! Thank you!
