I went to Nia on Monday night with two girlfriends, and we had a great time. It was slow, and there were only a few other guests in the restaurant, but our server was super attentive and full of recommendations, as if it were a busy Friday night. He was just great. We ordered a variety of small plates that were all quite good, and he even brought the meat-portion of one of the dishes out on a separate plate (instead of just "on the side") because I am vegetarian. Really very thoughtful. The food itself was good -- the aspara... read more
I was there in a group of six people. The prixe fixe menu offered great options, but it seemed a bit expensive for the portion size to be shared among a group of six. Food was very good. Scallops were amazing. Definitely the universal favorite. We all appreciated the noise level. We could have fun, heated conversations without feeling like we needed to scream to be heard.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed the food so much, we returned a couple more times. ??
we ate at nia the night before Valentine's and tried their 8 course sampling menu. The food was delicious and gave us the opportunity to try many different things off the menu
I went to Nia with a friend during restaurant week. The food—particularly the pumpkin gnocchi with sage brown butter—was delicious. Eight courses was way too much food for two of us, but we really enjoyed the "tasting menu" aspect of it. Only complaint is that service was a bit slow; we were done eating for a long time before the waitress checked on us. Also, we were overcharged for a bottle of prosecco. (The waitress did fix it for us, but that shouldn't have been necessary.) Overall a good experience.
We wanted to check out Nia and thought restaurant week would be a good opportunity to do so. The service was great - timely and attentive. There was an abundance of choice on the menu, which allowed us to try a variety of items. The food was fresh, tasted great and was well portioned. The cocktail/beer list could be improved. Nothing really noteworthy there except that the drinks selection & quality could be more refined. We did come for the food though and since we enjoyed ourselves, we'll definitely go back.
For being the first time, I must say I enjoyed myself with an eight course meal. I wanted to try something different in a different setting. So I participated in resturant week to take advantage of something new. All the food was fresh and delicious luckily it's sharing portions so you are not sitting there binge eating. The wait staff was on it as soon as you finish one course the next course was there before you ate your last spoon full. Overall great experience, a huge kudos to Chicago Resturant Week and Yelp for broadeni... read more
Find places like Nia reminds me to try place around the city I may not normally think of. Our meal was outstanding! Had it not been restaurant week, I don't think I would have thought to give this place a chance, but I am so glad I did. I'll be back until I try everything. There wasn't one dish in our six course lunch that we didn't love. I would have a difficult time picking one thing I liked more than another. Such a great find!!!
I went for the 8 course Restaurant Week menu and everything we selected was delicious. I will go back here again to see what their regular menu looks like.
