Dr. Kern not only did a remarkable surgery on my spine but he also saved my life. Living in constant severe pain 24-7. Dr.Birk gets an A+++++ from me !! I am a 58 year old woman, who has been a patient at Pain Management for 15 years. I have been in agony with my back, and had tried every injection and procedure available.Dr. Birk did a 2 level fusion surgery , and now I can say that I am pretty much pain free. He is my hero. I had a badly ruptured lumbar disc pinching my sciatic nerve. My pain level was a constant t 10 leaving me completely debilitated. He diagnosed the problem quickly with an MRI and operated in two days. I am healed and pain free. He is to the point but kind and caring, and takes plenty of time with his patients. Dr Kern is one of the best doctors I think I have ever seen. He goes out of his way to take care of his patients and listens to his patients and talks about any decisions that need to be made in the patients care. I would not hesitate to have him perform any additional surgeries I might need.
