I started seeing Dr. Birk about a year and a half ago, after years of pain management were no longer working to deal with my cervical spine issues. From the outset, he listened to my concerns, answered my questions, and in general was (and is) one of the best doctors I have ever had. He performed a 4-level ACDF a year ago and I am doing great. Once the surgery was done, he even pushed me to lose weight and I feel even better. I cannot thank him enough for everything he's done for me.

It can’t get better than Dr. Birk. So competent in doing minimally invasive surgery. He walked me through from beginning to end and I had no doubts I would be fine . I, literally, walked out of the hospital with no pain and a new lease on life. I highly recommend Dr. Birk

Dr. Birk is an amazing Neurosurgeon. He completed an ACDF-triple fusion due to cervical stenosis and myelopathy. Before this surgery, I wasn't able to make a fist, couldn't write, imbalanced gait and many other neurological issues. After my surgery, all of these issues have resolved. I had this surgery within a 6 month time frame of the onset of all of these symptoms. I highly recommend Dr. Birk to anyone who is looking for an exceptional Neurosurgeon. Best of luck to everyone! ~M. Banks

Dr. Kearn may be a good surgeon, the jury is still out. This man has "0" bedside manner. Unfortunately for his patients he's too old to change his behavior. If you expect more than 1% empathy from him, you may be disappointed. On the other hand, his staff is nice and professional and West Florida Hospital outpatient operating room seems top notch.

Business response:

We are committed to delivering superior patient-centered care to every patient during every visit and apologize this was not the experience described. We'd appreciate the opportunity to talk to you more about this experience and learn how we can improve in the future. If you are willing, please don't hesitate to call our practice manager, Maggie at 850-494-6003.

Dr. Kern was my neurosurgeon in Evansville Indiana. I had a benign meningioma in 2010. Ive read some negative reviews on him. If you want a Dr to codle you and sugar coat everything you should go somewhere else. If you want an honest and straight forward Dr. This athhole is the one! (I say that with complete respect) he made a difficult time alot more enjoyable.

Early Feb I was suffering from sever back pain at which time I saw an orthopedic dr that was a waste of time. My primary told me to seek the Davis nuero group at which time I was given an appointment with Dr BIirk . He sent me for an MRI at which time I had herniated l3 l4 l5. Iwas given surgery on l5 with great relief. then 1 month later it reherniated. due to insurance refusals I had to wait until June for additional surgery. All 3 had to be fused as he promised DrBirk cured me now no pain ty
