Had the pleasure of meeting [name removed] in July of 2023 when looking for placement for my elderly father. Unfortunately, he ended up needing total care and was moved to a rehab facility instead. [name removed]’s love for elderly patients knows no bounds and she stops by to visit with my father every time she is out marketing for the Oaks. The Community is beautiful inside and outside. Staff is wonderful, residents rave about how much they love living there. activties in AL and Memory Care are so engaging. I was so happy to see that so many residents were involved in Activities. The food looks and smells great! I will have to come have lunch with my Father. If you’re looking for a community, this one is Perfect!
The Oaks is a very thought out floor plan, the inside is very inviting as well as the outside. The Residents are so inviting and love to meet new people, when you tour they are very engaging and will tell you how much the love living there. The food is wonderful, the activities are top notch! They have so many things going on for residents, I wish I could live in!! The staff is so great with the residents, you could not ask for anything better!! Run don't walk, because this place fills up fast!
My loved one is a resident at Oaks at Oakland Plantation and things have been very good. It's the highest priced facility in Albany, but you get a lot more for the money. Based on previous experience with other facilities in Albany with other relatives, I was surprised at the top to bottom friendliness of the staff. It's refreshing to see that.
We liked the community and grounds. We preferred the atmosphere at another community better and this community felt bigger than what we needed at the time.
My only complaint is the plug in air fresheners they use in the hallways. Essential oil diffusers would be much healthier and more pleasant. The Oaks has been a wonderful experience for my dad. He moved there 6 months after my mother passed away, so it was a difficult transition. He was reluctant at first to become involved in the social activities, but he soon enjoyed them very much. He made new friends and developed his own life. He has been very happy there.
Attended grand opening a couple of years ago and I would have said this was the premier community within a 60 mile radius. I was impressed by the management , the staff and when I walked around all the people living there looked happy. I was in the area and decided to take another look around. I have an aunt that I’d really like to move in soon.I left so disappointed. No one is there from management. The place was dirty and gloomy.
