My loved one is a resident at Oaks at Oakland Plantation and things have been very good. It's the highest priced facility in Albany, but you get a lot more for the money. Based on previous experience with other facilities in Albany with other relatives, I was surprised at the top to bottom friendliness of the staff. It's refreshing to see that.

We liked the community and grounds. We preferred the atmosphere at another community better and this community felt bigger than what we needed at the time.
My only complaint is the plug in air fresheners they use in the hallways. Essential oil diffusers would be much healthier and more pleasant. The Oaks has been a wonderful experience for my dad. He moved there 6 months after my mother passed away, so it was a difficult transition. He was reluctant at first to become involved in the social activities, but he soon enjoyed them very much. He made new friends and developed his own life. He has been very happy there.
Attended grand opening a couple of years ago and I would have said this was the premier community within a 60 mile radius. I was impressed by the management , the staff and when I walked around all the people living there looked happy. I was in the area and decided to take another look around.
