Closer to home. Appearance of residents-grooming. Activities offered. Variety of food. Cleanliness and upkeep of property. A holiday special, iec. No changes for LOC.
My younger sister and I searched and researched assisted living facilities in the Pooler area. I live in Pooler and needed [name removed] closer to me. I have been the director of two facilities in Savannah so I know how difficult staying on top of everything can be BUT!!! Now I am dealing with my sister, my sister..,not just a resident. Serving the food upstairs is nonsense! It’s more work for the staff and there’s not even enough room for all residents to sit at a table. Usually they have pizza.. not a good meal to go to b... read more
Dad was at the Oaks in Pooler for about 3 years before his passing last month. Shortly after arriving there, The Oaks had new owners so many employees were going and new was coming. It has been in a constant state of change and movement of employees. They seem to be finding a good stride now. However, with all this going on with employees and management, I can truly say dad received great care. He had advanced dementia and was getting worse as time went on. It was a nice facility. Nice than any others at the time. And the location was convenient. I would recommend to others. In the beginning it was great but once COVID happened they got very short staffed and the care was terrible. So hard to say now.
I highly recommend Oaks at Pooler. The staff is compassionate, loving, and caring. I'm very pleased with how they are caring for my 82 year old Mother. My mother is happy there, and for that I am very grateful.
Nice presentation, really understaffed. I would not discourage someone from looking at it as an option. All assisted living facilities have a hard time keeping staff. But it's not a place I would place my mother or father.
We toured the Oaks at Pooler when searching for a Memory Care facility for our loved one. This facility was nice. However, the Memory Care section was a little dreary to me. I've heard lots of good reviews about this facility though, from friends and family.
The residents are wonderful. They are understaffed, which has affected the services. It's challenging getting someone to answer the phone. We picked this community, because it was recommended. They need to improve on their communication, and cleaning the apartment. They have exceptional staff, and they are just wonderful. I would recommend to other families. Overall, we have been pretty happy.
Oaks at Pooler was great. The staff were caring, and they were very honest and straightforward about everything.
