I went in for an oil change...I told them that was all I want. It was my first time changing my oil. My husband usually handles it. They said to me "We do a 33 point inspection" I say oh okay, thinking that they were explaining to me what came with the oil change. It wasn't until I got home that I realized it was an extra charge. They have kids running the shop and they hounded me about a million extra things. I went in saying ALL I WANT IS AN OIL CHANGE!!!
Service is good: they offer you coke, diet coke, coffee or water when you pull up. They are very efficent and helpful and get you out quick.
Hmm...Jiffy Lube across the street or this drive-thru? Seeing as that I liked the idea of getting in and out super quick, I thought I'd go with the latter. Besides, those exposes of Jiffy Lube and their shenanigans weren't doing them any favors in my mind! I really liked the idea of just sitting in your car while they performed the oil change. If you live in the Northwest side of Tucson and need a quick oil change please try these guy's out. The service they offer at the Chevron Oil Stop is wonderful. When you first pull up they always offer you a complimentary drink. The oil change itself does not take long but they will try to sell every service available to rack up your bill. A simple no thank you will do and then they move on. These guy's are also very busy at times so I suggest either stopping by early when they first open or stopping by in the late afternoon... read more
I use oil stop every change and think they are great. They are extremely polite, but I think they are beaten over the head with servant leadership literature, and all of their documents say that they will serve you humbly, with a servant's heart - aside from the hegemonic ideology, they are the best. And, the free car wash is a great savings!
I am writing specifically because I have to disagree with Lauren's review to a point. Yes, they are friendly, quick and inexpensive if you get out with only an oil change but that is where we disagree. When I go into the Petaluma facility, I can get out with just the oil change but when the wife goes in by herself, they hit her with all types of extras despite the fact they have records on our car and know they performed the same service or offered the same extra product at the last service. I must admit I am generally skeptical when it comes to car service - I always feel like I'm about to get ripped off or coaxed into some unnecessary expense. However, I've had my last 2 oil changes done at Oil Stop (first in Santa Rosa, then Petaluma) and I am impressed. I really appreciated that the employees were so polite, knowledgeable, and never trying to sell me what I didn't need. I love drive through oil changes. I don't know what these other yelpers are talking about it taking too long...have you ever changed your own oil? Did it ever take less than half an hour? I don't think so. I got there at 11:10, was offered a tasty beverage (coffee, water, or soda) I said no thanks. Then they started working. They offered me some extra stuff but since I am a poor person I can only afford the minimal oil change. They show you everything along the way. I love this place! They give you soda pop while you wait in your car to get all your engine junk changed & cleaned. They are ALWAYS super courteous & operate w/a "no pressure" service... They also keep track of what services your car last received & they also give you handy info cards so you can learn about what they're doing down there under the hood. I've been bringing my car there for years... (too bad there isn't one more centrally located) :(
