I foster dogs for Good Samaritan and we usually use the vets they have discount arrangements with to take care of any medical needs the dogs may have when we pull them off death row. But my latest foster boy had a mouth full of black and rotten teeth. It was tragic. The rescue group's normal vet was scheduling 10 days out, and i just couldn't bear to see this poor dog suffer for 10 more days. The experience was just ok. Wasn't big on the animal shelter style units my dog stayed in. We boarded our dog for two days and called and checked in on him daily. The staff was very accommodating. This was the first time we have boarded our dog. The first day they indicated he wasn't enjoying the group play time, so they did one on one play which costs more money, wasn't thrilled about that. We were going out of town and didn't have anyone to watch our two year old lab mix, so we decided to board her. I had never boarded a dog before, so I was a bit worried about the whole situation, but we had the greatest experience at Overland! From the moment we walked in, the staff was professional, friendly, and helpful (not to mention very patiently answering all my questions before we dropped her off). Last Wednesday I had to suffer the loss of our dear sweet Buddy after his term of Cancer wore his little body down. This difficult task was handled with deep respect and tender care with the doctor and staff. We thank all involved. We are so grateful. All we can stress about all our experiences with Overland Animal Hospital and they're staff is EXCELLENT! ! ! !
The only place in town that showed any concern for my dog in an "emergency" situation.... with patience for me to gather up some money, my dog was seen and is in recovery!!! Thank you overland staff for really caring for the animals! !!!!!!!
I absolutely love Kim Palgrave! She is the best!! Took the time to explain all my options and even made sure the price was ok before proceeding. They also don't try to push any unnecessary crazy hoopla that some of the other vets in the area do. They are also able to get a quick appointment when needed. I highly recommend this clinic!
After going through some big chain vet place and was basically recommended to get the "puppy package" for $400, I brought my corgi puppy to Overland to get his shots. I just want to go to a place that doesn't offer BS, has good caring doctors and close to my house. This place fits all my requirements. They had a clean place, friendly staff, and they offer pet rental during the day for $12. It is around $30 for cats overnight which I think is a little steep but the day only rate is good! The vets are concerned with my pets overall health
So, I toured this boarding facility because of the wonderful reviews online. The staff seemed really wonderful, as mentioned, and I loved that someone lives right on the grounds to be available at any given time. However, I was really concerned about the play area being outdoors and un-shoveled (left snowy) even in the cold. I also disliked the area of the boarding facility that looked like an old school animal shelter in a concrete hall with a big heat lamp overhead and chain link doors.
