I come into treatment so angry and not wanting to be here but as time went on I began to notice I was mainly angry at myself and my addiction. My therapist Deja is a lifesaver and showed me that it’s to start liking myself so I can learn to love myself and that’s starting to happen. I believe I can stay clean now but I’ve got a lot of work to do and plan on doing it.
What I learned here and value the most is I can put my using days behind me but I’ve got to learn to live with what’s in front of me without resorting back to the familiar ways of addiction. Ms Katie was the best therapist I ever could have been given and she’s a gift from above. Ralph, Vikki, Denise and Donna always go above and beyond as a TA need a hefty raise for all they have to put up with. The atmosphere here is electric and the groups are the best because of all the experienced therapists at Oxford. Joanna the art therapist is awesome and very skilled at making you dig deep with art work. My therapist Forrest was so kind even when I wasn’t in a very accepting stage of recovery especially early on. Thank you OTC and I recommend this awesome establishment to anyone seeking recovery.
Thanks to Oxford for giving me my life back. I was close to dying when I showed up and the nurses took very good care of me. My counselor Jewell is a big reason I stayed and completed treatment here. Her compassion is second to none and her no nonsense approach is a game changer.
Being here has taught me several things and #1 is I can stay sober no matter what life throws at me, #2 is I don’t have to react to my feeling because it usually doesn’t end up well when I do that and lastly #3 is I have another opportunity at recovery. Firstly I want to thank the medical team for helping me every time I had a medical issue and for that I’m forever grateful and thankful for their dedication to treating patients. I’ve had a good time learning how to live again and all the groups are stock piled with information to change your life. I’d definitely recommend Oxford to anyone who needs help with addiction and mental issues.
I’ve learned so much by being at the treatment center and I’d like to especially thank my counselor and the TAs for being supportive and helpful. The setting here is pristine and its like being at a 5 star resort. The equine staff are incredible and their demonstrations with the horses are eye opening.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life and Oxford has taught me to live in today and that’s what I’m going start doing each day. My treatment has gone way beyond my expectations and I’m so happy to just be alive today.
Overall my experience at Oxford has been really good and helpful. The nurses and doctors are working really hard to get my medication adjusted properly and I am very happy about that. I’d recommend this facility to anyone who needs addiction treatment.
