Wonderful! My 22 month old had a blast at Boo at the Zoo! So did we, the adults! This was our first time at the zoo and I was really impressed! Very cleans the design layout was nice! Shaded areas which will help when we go in the afternoons. A variety of animals and a lot of other kid activities. The boo at the zoo event was awesome! If you go Friday nights it's only $10 per adult. I enjoyed the number of vendors, free goodies, and numerous opportunities to trick or treat. There was a DJ, which my tiny dancer loved and the ... read more

Let's start off this by saying I am a big fan of Zoo's and wildlife. The Palm Beach Zoo is very small relative to what I am used to. It took me about 1.5-2hours to walk through the entire zoo, not including the time I took to have lunch Tropics Cafe. But what it lacks in size it makes up for in charm and opportunity. There is lots of opportunity to meet and feed a few animals which I view as one of the best things about this zoo. It is pleasantly decorated and clean. Staff was very friendly and informative. I really enjoyed... read more

It's nice that there is a zoo that you can take the kiddos to go to see animals they otherwise would not be able to see up close... Location is nice... it's close to the Science Center and Dreher park. The zoo is small, separated into sections with a nice water -fountain-water- park type thing (sorry I dunno what it's called... a bunch of sprinklers where kiddos can run through)in the middle. You can get through it in about 1-2 hours or so. There is a decent variety of animals to see here. Notably, there's a cool albino al... read more

Beautiful zoo! The layout of this zoo is very well put together. It's much bigger on the inside than it appears. Despite the Florida heat, the abundance of shade makes most of the zoo rather cool. Great place for infants and small children. Free parking.

First time I visited zoo was almost three years ago. I liked how shaded the zoo, so we could see more animal unlike Miami Zoo. We were very excited to visit the zoo. Today I was pretty disappointed, most of the animals were hiding. And it seems like nothing to see or do at this zoo. The best part of the zoo is splash play, kids had blast.

This zoo is VERY small. You can easily finish it in about an hour. My kids get bored quickly here. They have a large splash pad right in the center of the zoo. It works as a giant loop. You go section by section and end at the splash pad each time. I do like this set up. The nicest section is near the exit where you can see and feed the lorikeets and they have neat animals like the lemurs and other monkeys and birds. For the amount of animals I feel like it is a bit pricey and the kiddie section is often closed.

I was expecting a lot from this zoo. One thing I did love was the water area for the kids to play in, my son had a blast! When we went to see the animals, most of the exhibits were empty. Pretty disappointed to say the least. The zoo was small, which was a plus because I have a small child and he was able to walk the whole area with no problem.

The zoo was founded 50 years ago by Paul Dreher who settled in West Palm Beach from Germany. In 1961 he built a small red barnyard and added farm animals. It was opened to to the residents of Palm Beach as The Dreher Park Farm Zoo. More animals were added through the years and a Zoological Society created in 1969 now runs the zoo while the city owns the land it is on. In 1989 the zoo applied to become a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums which furthered it's ability to create higher standards for both guests and... read more
