Not sure how to say this without sounding like a Karen. I do like this place but pickleball Round robins need to be organized a little differently, not quite sure how with the large numbers. All I know is that it hasn't been a lot of fun to play the current format, which is more of a ladder format than a round robin. Excellent pickleball facilities. Round Robin play at 8am & 10am daily with a wide range of level play. Lots of clinics and classes and great staff that help and encourage. Will definitely be back for more.
Amazing pros. Great lessons. Never a boring day here. The Grand Slam lessons always make my vacation week at the Palmetto Dunes amazing! Will be back annually!
I took part in the round robin twice here during my visit to HHI. Everyone is so friendly and the game is fun!
First time here today and need I say, it was a blast. Such a large operation with so many people but so well organized. The clinic teachers are amazing and the staff at check-in/pro shop is amazing as well. I didn't get everyone's name but Mimi and Tim were helpful as this was a birthday present to me from my lovely wife. And can you imagine as a bonus the check-in staff had a cupcake and a birthday balloon, somehow hearing it was my birthday! Customer service at its best!
Come for the beautiful courts and tournaments. Do not stay due to the atmosphere. I have never been treated so poorly from simply asking to schedule pickleball court time. Dismissive and smug, the staff were convoluted in answering my questions and unable to give me a direct answer as to when I could sign up for a court time. Three of my friends and I came here to play some tennis and we signed up for two private lessons with the Director of Tennis Eric. Just as a brief background, our group of 4 ranged from 3.5 to 4.5 level, and Eric provided a strong advanced curriculum for us. We did a group private two-hour lesson two of the days we were staying in Hilton Head. Eric customized our lessons around our needs and requests. The pros at Palmetto Dunes tweaked my tennis strokes and helped me immensely with doubles strategy. Kudos to Patrick Walker and Eric Wammock for improving my game. I will take the instruction home and will enjoy playing much better. I may have to upgrade my USTA rating! These are great instructors, but greater people who add so much to the tennis experience. The daily tennis cardio clinics are awesome. Especially with tennis pro Erik Wammock. I have learned more "make sense" strategy moves and shot selection tips from him in four sessions than i have in years at my home club. Kjensen
