This friendly neighborhood hangout feels like it's been around for much longer than it has. Probably because of the old black-and-white photos of Phoenix that cover the walls or the ease with which the patrons settle in for a casual meal or a drink at the bar. Whatever the reason, you will feel comfortable and welcome here. The menu features large portions of all-American mains with Southwestern twists. Pizzas and light bites perfectly complement a glass of wine, beer or cocktail from the bar.

We loved the ambiance and the nice mom-and-pop feel of the restaurant. Good for small groups. We brought a guest from New Jersey and he loved the experience. Great R&B music playing throughout the restaurant. Was the food amazing? No. It was probably 3.5 out of 5 but it was a good fit for our purposes - a nice family gathering.
Ordered Steak, pancetta, parsnip puree, and brussel sprouts. For $38, received a good steak and brussel sprouts. A microscopic amount of pancetta and parsnip. Felt mislead.
We had the bacon wrapped shrimp and it was delicious. The atmosphere was nice with reasonably spaced tables. The waitress was excellent, taking time to answer our questions and give guidance to our selections. The cornbread was very good; they say it is the best in Phoenix. We've had better. We will definitely return...
PCG is consistently a great dining experience. We were there on a really busy Saturday night, so the service was a bit slower than usual, but the servers were working hard and were very apologetic. Aside from that minor glitch, it was a great experience, as usual.
PCG has been our go-to neighborhood restaurant for a long time. The service was outstanding, even on a busy Friday evening. I rarely order beef but tried the flank steak this time. Unfortunately, I didn't care for the seasoning or garnish. Not bad, just not my taste. On the other hand, the $5 add-on Caesar salad was excellent, the vegetable entree was cooked perfectly and the cornbread is still the best around (thank you, Sheldon).
The quality of the food and preparation remain high, attentive service, refreshed decor (since our previous visit) and an atmosphere conducive to carrying on conversation that can be heard without fighting the noise common in most restaurants. Such a positive experience we look forward to returning soon.
Business response:
Thank you for your kind review and direct message to us, Debra. We're looking forward to seeing you soon. -Sheldon
We have gone to PCG for over 10+ years. During our recent visits, we have sensed a change in the culture and food. We are hopeful the team is in transition and things will become more like the neighborhood grille we've always loved.
Business response:
I would like to assure you that our culture has not changed. We still want to be a great neighborhood restaurant, offering quality dishes and specials to our guests. Our menu is always evolving and sometime we have misses, but our intention is always to improve. The same goes for our ambiance. Our staff should be, first and foremost, friendly and responsive to our guest's needs. If this has not been the case please call me or email me. I promise you I will address the issues. Sheldon Knapp
This place never disappoints--amazing food, super clean, great service, and wonderful ambiance.
