We ave a 30,000 gunite pool with gunite steps. The 380 has never cleaned the steps. It gets hung up with them occasionally. It will back up then go right back to them, it might take 4 or 5 times to finally go else where. It will never get every inch of the pool bottom but it does get most of it. It comes in handy if I'm busy I put it in the pool to get the majority of stuff out. Then I'll get the remainder.
Bought house with pool. Had an old 380 in it that worked for a while and then started falling apart. Bought a new one and went through all the set up operations myself. I am very happy with it. It keeps the pool clean so I don't have to sweep, vacuum, and purge. The zipper on the bag clogs when it gets dirty so you have to rinse it off well. Other than that, I don't know how you could improve it.
I recommend this product if you have a booster pump. It works well a I low maintenance.
It's ok if you don't have time to vacuum . I've had one for years and it's never cleaned my steps which are concrete. It'll get hung up on the steps a lot. But it eventually pulls it's self clear. I recommend getting the silt bag which picks up finer debris. It may be working for numerous hours and never hit certain spots. They should have made it 6 or 8 inches wider.
I replaced my old cleaner which has not worked for 2 weeks, with the Polaris 380. After making the 3 adjustments it cleaned the pool in about 45 minutes even the steps. I am very happy with it.
Excellent Pool Cleaner We had a Polaris 380 that lasted 10 years before normal wear and tear took its toll on it. We decided to purchase another one, since our last one lasted so long. We plugged it in and it took off and works excellent. I forgot how powerful it was when its brand new. This thing goes up our stairs and walls and turns around nicely!
