Bought this to replace 23 year old Polaris 380. Basically, nothing has changed, thankfully! “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” , right?! Hope the new one lasts as long!
Our first Polaris 380 lasted 12 years still worked. Replaced several parts over the years. Just decided to buy a new one. Still great
I have a mixed review. When working properly the 380 is fantastic. The problem is that it has been difficult to get working properly and stay working properly. My original 380 was 18 years old when I recently replaced it. I have installed the new one as per the instructions as well as a new booster pump. Getting it to work as it is supposed to has been a bit frustrating. There has been a lot of trial and error and no complete success. This is my second Polaris 380. First lasted 15 years. It virtually foolproof and picks up large debris easily. Every pool professional I know says it is the best cleaner on the market.
I love the product! Works just like I expected. I made a few adjustments to fit my pool. My pool is always clean and sparkling.
I replaced an old and tired Polaris 380 (moved very slowly, tail didn't move, when it hit a wall the wheels would stop spinning and not climb). The replacement has been in for about two weeks, and is working great (although the attachment blew off once from the pressure from the motor). The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star rating is that it has only been in the pool for a few weeks. I hope it continues to perform the way it does currently.
Replaced a10 year old Polaris Sam’s this one works much better. Old one did not clean the walls but this one does. Only issue is that the tail sometimes gets stuck in the skimmer for a little while.
This 380 replaced the old one that was just over 20 years old. The 380 is a SIMPLE, WELL DESIGNED, HIGHLY EFFECTIVE device that will work hard and last for YEARS! Over the years, I had replaced the tires a couple of times, and the drive belts about every 3 to 4 years. 3 years ago, I replaced the "water management system" and all was fine through the years.
