The cleaner will pick up leaves and larger particles, but just blows out silt and causes the pool to become cloudy, and pool then requires a day of filtering to clear it up. The power cord has no swivel, which is amazing since every cleaner out there seems to have learned to have swivel cords on these cleaners. The power cord tangles before the cycle ends and I have to untangle it to continue. This unit replaces a Dolphin Diagnostic cleaner which I must say was a superior product. Had I Known I'd have tangled cords and sedi... read more

Business response:

Hi Ronald, Thank you for choosing Polaris! Our apologies for the issues you're having with your new cleaner, however. The Polaris 8050 comes with a General Purpose Debris Filter, but it sounds like you might need either R0632700 Polaris Fine Debris Filter or R0632702 Polaris Ultra Fine Debris Filter. Your local pool professional should be able to advise which is more suited for your area. That should clear up those clouds! We do offer robotic pool cleaners with a tangle-free swivel cord, along with other additional feat... read more

Would not recommend the Polisario 8050 sport. In my opinion it doesn’t clean as well as the 93xx, 94xx series and it constantly gets stuck on one of the main drains in the deep end of the pool and goes around in circles. Would not buy this unit again, nor would I recommend anyone purchasing this unit.

Business response:

Hi Steve, We're sorry you're experiencing issues with your Polaris 8050 Sport Robotic Cleaner! Customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us. We will have a technical support representative reach out to you. Thank you for your patience. Regards, Your Polaris Team

Polaris 8050, will not clean my pool walls!

Business response:

Hi Roy, We apologize for your cleaner's poor climbing performance. We have some tips to try: 1. Clean the filter canister, see Cleaning the Filter Canister in the Owner's Manual. 2. Adjust Surface Control System™ setting, see the Wall Cleaning section in the Owner's Manual. 3. Do a shock chlorination treatment to reduce the pH levels in the pool. DO NOT leave the cleaner in the pool during this treatment. You can find the owner's manual at https://www.polarispool.com/en/products/robotic/polaris-8050. If you would like furt... read more

Mine did work great. We loved it. We've had it less than a year and the control box just stopped working. We'd used it in the morning, it worked fine. Cleaned it and put it back in the pool. When we pushed the button to turn it on .... nothing. No lights. It's like the control box just died. Replacement control box will be $350 to $400.

Business response:

Hello Debi, We are sorry to hear that you experienced issues with your cleaner, and we want to help! We will have a technical support representative reach out to you. All the Best, Your Polaris Team

Does a good job cleaning the pool when it's moving. One star down because the unit gets stuck on the pool drain. After moving it off of the drain it will invariably be stuck on the drain again within a few minutes.

Business response:

Hello David, Thank you for your feedback. We want to help troubleshoot the issues you're experiencing. Please reach out to our technical support department at, (800) 822-7933. All the Best, Your Polaris Team

I purchased the Polaris because this is the 1st summer I’ve been totally responsible for my pool maintenance. I have trees & running it every other day has taken a load of manual work off me. So glad I decided to purchase if

Works great except when it occasionally gets hung up on the bottom drain that sticks up about an inch. If it hits dead on the tracks are not tall enough to touch the bottom of the pool so it sits there and spins.

Business response:

Dear Gregg, Thank you for your feedback about the Polaris 8050 Sport Robotic Pool Cleaner. Your main drain may be compatible with the Unibridge cover we manufacture. For more information about the Unibridge, visit https://www.zodiacpoolsystems.com/en/products/pool-accessories/unibridge. If you'd like to receive assistance from us just email feedback@zodiac.com or call (800) 822-7933.Thanks again, Polaris
