A suggestion that will improve pool coverage is to ensure the cleaner cable is entering the pool at the center of the length of the pool and that only the required amount of cable is allowed into the pool. Essentially, you should only allow enough cable into the pool to cover the furthest point from the cable entry location in the pool. the robot constantly gets caught up in the hand rails from the 4 foot deep section to the baht shelf. rarely gets through an hour of use. I'm there regularly to get it unstuck. Otherwise a good product.

I'm only giving one star because that's the lowest I can go. If I could give negative stars, then I'd give this "machine" (and, for that matter, all Polaris machines) a negative 10. Started off buying the 9550 because I was told it was "state of the art" and very reliable. After owning it for maybe a year where it spent more time in the repair shop than in my pool, the manufacturer then tells me that they cannot fix it because they don't make the parts for it any more. My Alpha iQ is less than 4 months old the cable and gears are already out. Unit has been in the shop for repairs for over 3 weeks. Not excited to pay $1,100 for a unit that lasted 4 months before gears needing to be replaced.

The customer service rep was nice but not knowledgeable on the product. If you have an issue with your vacuum, don’t waste your time calling Polaris. They will tell you to contact who you bought the vacuum from. There was a long hold time to get through to them and it was a waste of time. FYI.

We recommend regular brushing of the steps, and once the debris is dislodged, the cleaner can take care of it at the bottom or sides of the pool.
