This jet acts as a back up, pulling the cleaner out from the pool floor or wall. There is an arrow on one side of the hose barb that should face towards the cleaner. Polaris G52 Vac-Sweep Replacement Back-Up Pool Valve The Polaris pool sweep seemed to be down to it's last leg. After a quick inspection I found the back up valve had a significant crack in it, and the sweep wasn't getting enough pressure to move forward to do its job (let alone 'back up' when it got stuck). Replacement Purchased as replacement for original Polaris 380 system unit. Works fine -- and at 40% lower price than equivalent part from local "discount" pool supply store.
Worked like a charm!! This was exactly what I needed. The polaris was in back-up mode constantly, and after I replaced the valve with the "easy to follow" instructions that were included, it's working exactly as designed. I received it in record time, and I will definitely used this company again for my polaris parts.
Amazon is the way to go! On a Sunday morning, I noticed my Polaris wasn't running normally. Upon inspection, noticed the ring holding the housing together had slit... Works great I thought it may be time for a new Polaris 380. I purchased this unit to replace the old one and now the sweep works like new. Also found that adjusting the floats on the supply line really helped the sweep stay in an upright position.
Perfect My 8 yr. old Polaris was not reaching the shallow end or climbing the walls. I noticed a crack in the housing of the back-up valve. The price here was half of the cost from our local discount pool supply store. The item arrived three days after ordering. It is an OEM part and came with complete assembly directions. Had it connected within minutes and the Polaris is working perfectly again!!
