Excellent product! I had a Pentair 4 wheeled hunk-o-junk for years and it never cleaned worth a damn. It would run for 3 minutes and get stuck in a corner no matter how you adjusted it. For it to clean, you'd have to stand outside for hours and move it every 3 minutes when it got stuck again. If you left for a 2 week vacation, it would be stuck in the exact same spot as when you left and the pool would be full of dirt and debris.I read the reviews of all the newer Pentair and Polaris products and they all seem to get poor re... read more

It is less visible and works just a great as all the Polaris products have always done for me - I'm thrilled with the color and hope they continue the black color option!

Don't repair. REPLACE IT. I was needing to repair or replace my existing Polaris - again. I had already replaced some of the parts before and instead of buying another upgrade kit, I decided to replace the unit. Instead of buying one of the newest versions, finding a NEW 280 (in black) was a perfect solution: all new parts AND a great price.The unit has been working well for some time. Recommended option for anyone with older unit needing ongoing repairs.

best ever this is our second 280, the first has held strong for ten years! hoping to get the same out of this one.
Black Max Polaris-MAXIMUM Purchased this unit to replace the prior model which lasted almost 15 years. It appears after several weeks to be comparable to the replaced unit. The pool had had the coping recently removed and replaced so there was lots of sandy debris in the pool which this little demon gobbled up like pacman. Literally had several pounds of material in each bag I emptied. Love this vac
