Made a reservation for special occasion (Birthday Party) It was never acknowledged. Spent $90 at the bar and $450 on dinner. It was Devour Indy however it was not crowded. I got the lettuce wedge which was warm and soupy. The shrimp appetizer was cold and looked like it had been sitting for a couple of hours. We've been to Provision a few times over the years and our recent visit was sub par. Starting with the atmosphere, it was very quiet and less vibrant than before. It felt more like a hotel restaurant than a destination. Our server was great. He was attentive and there are no complaints. The food, however, was poor. My wife's steak was supposed to be cooked medium and it arrived well done. The cut of meat was also tough. Overall, the experience combined with the food (taste and prep) will likely cause us not to revisit.

The restaurant looks nice, and the staff are excellent. However, the food was disappointing. An amuse-bouche deviled egg was served, and the egg was so poorly prepared that the egg white was hard and chewy. The dumpling share plate had nice sauce, but the dumpling pastry was chewy, tasting like the entire plate had been microwaved before being served. William, your words are telling me that you enjoyed your experience but you gave us a 1 Star? Was there something that went wrong and the reason you only gave us a 1 Star?
Our order either didn't get turned in or fell through the cracks but it took my husband getting up and asking the manager how long it would take for us to see our food. All told it was over an hour! Thankfully, the manager comped the food (not the wine or apps) or there would have been some very angry customers. The tortelloni was bland, the curried shrimp was heavily salted and the special request for the burger was forgotten. It'll be a while before we go back and it won't be on a busy weekend night.
