It is easy to change out the various sized ribbons Works very well. It is easy to change out the various sized ribbons. You don't need to use up a cartridge before exchanging it for another size ribbon. It was also easy to set up and use the computer program to have more options for printing labels. I preferred using the computer option. The machine does take batteries and it does auto-shut-down after a short while. Love My Label Maker! Love my label maker! I especially appreciate being able to use many types and widths of ribbons. I also like being able to change the size, font, and style of the letter in my labels. The screen is very clear and easy for my aging eyes to see. The size the words look like on the screen can also be adjusted and made larger if you need it. This doesn't effect the actual font size on the label when it is printed.
