Excellent software and capabilities, but not as portable as a handheld. This is a fantastic label maker, but not the same as a handheld in the same price range. Good Simple and quick
good machine but MISERABLE SOFTWARE FOR MAC OS This is a simple device made to do something simple - print a LABEL. It doesn't require much thought or design planning. Why then is there not a SIMPLE piece of software that you can have pop up, type the information you want in the label, have the machine sense what type of label stock is installed, adjust widths and lengths accordingly, and JUST PRINT WITHOUT TEDIOUS MANUAL MANEUVERING AND MENU SELECTIONS? Older model but works great This replaces one I dropped and broke after years of great service. Windows 7 automatically installed the driver. Makes great labels with their software, which is a free download. Label tapes available in all colors and clear tape too, at reasonable rates. The price is right and next day delivery was amazing. Newer models have wifi and print from your phone, but cost a lot for the printer. This suits our needs well.
Great Label Printer - Mac Setup is a bit tricky This label print works great. The latest label editor is easy to use and able to create label without waste, (Not the Lite version, you should avoid at all cost). If you are a Mac user, this machine could be a bit tricky to setup. If your mac won't able to detect the label printer, try to turn off the "P-Lite" button on the label printer. This will stop the label printer mounted as a USB drive on the Mac and your Mac should be able to detect the printer going forward.

Great little label maker from Brother Already own this.. bought 2nd for my home office. Great machine.. P-touch editor makes it easy to make customized labels with graphics and fonts from my computer. It's sleek design doesnt add clutter to my desk!
Great label printer! Love this little guy! Not very portable in the sense you need a computer to use it, fine with a laptop in that sense. For a true portable label printer, get the nicer color screen Brother label printer that supports both modes of operation. I love that it can sit on my desk and the P-Touch Editor software is easy to use and supports a ton of features on par with professional level label software.
