While I dont rent from riner rentals, (thank goodness) i h ave FAMILY who does. The carpet was stained when they moved in. And to this day has not been changed. The a/c goes out regularly. My granddaughter has allergies, when the Windows are open she is miserable. I wouldn't rent from them if they were the last rental property in the area. I would give them a 0 if I could. Do yourselves a favor. ....... Look elsewhere

Riner Rentals gave us inaccurate rental information that caused us to lose an apartment we thought we could move into this weekend. Their follow up and attempts to find a solution were sub-par and then they emailed me and told me they would no longer rent to us because our phone calls were "upsetting and disruptive". It's too bad so many apartment complexes are managed by this company.

Riner Rental does no necessary. Mold and dampness are common and everyone in the house gets sick.

If I could select a 0 stars, I would. This has been the worst place that I ever lived and I lived everywhere in Harrisonburg. First, we moved in to the most disgusting apartment ever. It had never been cleaned, there was food on the walls, furniture that wasn't put together correctly and a broken mattress. We were willing to work with it, because the location was good and price was cheap. But as time went on the it got worst and worst. Now, moving out, we are being charged a over $1,000 dollars for them to make our terrible ... read more

I rented from Riner Rentals from July 2015 to June 2016. I, too, read all the negative online reviews before renting and I mentally prepared myself to be extra cautious before signing. All said and done, 98% of the year was completely normal with no issues. Paying rent was easy, getting repairs done was fairly simple, our apartment was very nice and very new. I didn't like that I wasn't allowed to have the name or number of the apartment owner but I guess that's normal when you lease from a property management company. The b... read more

Business response:

Thanks for your honest review Dan. I'm sorry it was such a hassle to resolve the painting charge that should never have been charged to you, but I'm also glad you called and that we were able to get it resolved. As we represent private owners, sometimes their interpretation of damage is different than what I feel is fair. In these situations, we discuss with the owners and try to reach a fair settlement when we can. I'm glad it worked out in this case, and hope you have a great rest of your summer. Riner is currently our management company, only because the agreement is very one sided. Ever since the old man left it has been a very poor experience. They are ill informed, unprofessional, and outright disingenuous. No accountability at all, they have an excuse and a diversion for every time they put you out. Go elsewhere for management needs.

Basically impossible to get much of your security deposit back regardless if you do absolutely everything and follow the guidelines so that you won't get charged. You will get charged. Don't worry.

This is absolutely the worse place to rent off. They will find every way to get your security deposit.

Absolutely awful communication. I loved living in my apartment, but the experience after I moved out was horrendous. Received $160 back from a $550 deposit for basic wear and tear on the apartment (really not even that). After arguing for a refund of a trash fee and guest passes a few weeks later I finally did receive that refund. However I was charged a $200 painting fee for walls that were basically in great condition, but with some markings that I specified on the move-in sheet (NOT damage done by me). After bringing this... read more

Business response:

I appreciate you doing that and am glad that you received everything from us. Sorry again for the frustration we caused, and I hope you have a great holiday weekend as well!
