Nurse Practitioner Lovanie knew exactly how to help me and what I was trying describe when I had to put in a sick call to be seen. The medication I was on at first had a negative reaction with a different medication I had started, she quickly recognized what the problem was and why, and found a solution that worked for me. At River Oaks Treatment Center I was able to have the pleasure of getting to know quite a bit of the staff. The one that stood out to me and made such a lasting impression has to be Nurse Casey!!! When I tell you that this woman is the best, I mean The Best. She was so quick and cared so much for all of us. She was quick at med pass, everyone loved that! When I met my Therapist Amy for the first time, it was such a positive and supportive meeting. She knew exactly how to talk to me the way I would understand and relate. She is so easy to talk to and didnt make me feel uncomfortable at all. When she led a group class, everyone knew it would be fun and we would all learn something new every time! TA Skylar was such a comforting and uplifting employee at River Oaks Treatment Center. She is friendly, and treated us residents like we were all on the same "level" and she genuinely cared. Andy was my Therapist here and I am so pleased with his methods. Andy gave great advice, and advocated for me more than ever. I was going through the worst with drawls, and Andy made it a point to go and check in with me. Once I was over all that my mental state was off the charts, but he did not change his course of action with helping me. My therapist Christina, at River Oaks was the bomb! She helped me dig deep and helped me through it in the process. Christina gave me important feedback, and actually listened to me. She even taught me how to calm myself down during certain situations and how to bring my mind back in. "Grounding Techniques". When I arrived at River Oaks Rehab, I had no idea what to expect. I was so angry, sad, hurt, and by no means clean and sober. I did not have a problem I said, I'm just here because the Judge said I needed to be. Then I met Thomas. My personal opinion on River Oaks, well for myself, the T.A. Adrian inspired me and probably has no idea just how much. Adrian was always so energetic and always just seamed to pop up on people the moment someone needed something! He even let us use his bluetooth speaker while we played volleyball. That was cool. Rosie is a woman who I personally think had the least favorite job position at River Oaks Treatment Center. She was part of the housekeeping\cleaning personnel, and she ALWAYS wore a smile while doing her job. When I first saw the kind of messes she had to clean up, I felt such sympathy for her. But she didn't let her smile fade one bit. She looked at me, smiling, and told me hello.
