I have gone to there twice. Both times the final bill exceeded what was quoted. For instance my dog was taken in for shots and grooming including a flea shot. When I picked him up the bill was $100 more because they had to use a flea bath during grooming and other added items. They never contacted me to ask if I was OK with the additional proceedures. My final bill was $577! They force customers to pay for kennel cough shots which according to a web site: Dogs that are often around other dogs Dogs that are housed or gathered... read more

During Tucker's visit, our doctor spoke with you over the phone. At that time, we assumed that you understood there would be additional costs due to Tucker having a flea infestation. We apologize for any confusion that may have been caused. We do always use capstar for any pet with fleas when they are staying with us, even for grooming and treatment. This is because capstar kills all of the fleas almost immediately, which prevents them from spreading to other pets in our kennel. We offered to remove the NexGard from your inv... read more
I have been using Roanoke Animal Hospital since I moved to Texas 4 years ago. All 4 of my animals go there along with getting groomed there as well. NEVER AGAIN THATS FOR SURE. I called to get my dog in because she wasn’t eating or drinking. They said they would have to charge me $100 to schedule her is same day along with charging me additional $50 for the office visit. I THINK NOT. After I ask for them to send me all the pets records, which they never did, they told me that if I’m that concerned about my pet, to take her t... read more

Mr Wysocki, We hope that you were able to have Lily seen at the emergency hospital. While we do our best to see emergencies when they arise, we are not set up like an emergency hospital with extra staff to handle emergency work-ins when they happen. Although, when possible, we do our best to work in emergencies and we do charge an emergency/work-in fee for these (but not in addition to a regular exam fee). During this pandemic the number of sick patients that need our care has continued to increase and we are doing our best... read more
We have been having issues with miss communication with the staff and vets. We love Dr. Sheppard but something has changed. I know Covid has gotten things a little more complicated. However, they sure have not done anything to help with issues such as timing, scheduling, working with customer picking up multiple dogs. I know our situation this last time is a bit different, since we don’t usually forget our wallets home. We have been using Roanoke Animal Hospital for years for our own animals and those we foster. Always payin... read more

Tatiana, we greatly appreciate you taking the time to speak with us and for allowing us to address your concerns. We understand your frustration and will use this feedback to work hard to improve the service we provide our clients and their pets.
Our first visit was Friday 3/8/2019 and my 8yr old miniature Schnauzer received a clean bill of health and a $231.45 bill which we gladly paid in full for services rendered. We dropped Dutchess off the very next Friday 3/15/2019 for her first grooming experience with RAH at 8am and was told they would call when she was ready. We had to call at 4pm and was told that they were just finishing up. When we picked Dutchess up she had one eye closed. The doctor flushed and stained her eye and sent us home with a steroid. My dog... read more
Business response:
Hi Shannon, we value your feedback and we hope Dutchess is doing well. We strive to be the best at what we do and deeply care about the safety and well-being of all the pets we care for. This is why we had both Dr. Covington and Dr. Shepherd (our Managing DVM), call and check in with you about Dutchess. We also credited you back for the medication Dutchess needed and apologized for any distress both you and Dutchess experienced. Because we are passionate about our work, we also provided Dutchess with a follow up exam at no c... read more
Don't take your pets there and leave them!!! I picked my dog up after 5 days of boarding and a grooming session to find that she had an open wound on her nose. I addressed the issue with the Office Administrator and she tried to say my dog injured herself by sticking her nose under the kennel but the kennel techs said she does not do that when boarded besides the fact that she has been boarded at other facilities and has never been injured. The Office Administrator was unable to tell me how my dog was injured while in the... read more
All about the money. Not interested in the animal at all. My dog Max who has diabetes and has been going to them was recently released because we did not want to get the shots through them. Mind you the shots were 300+ dollars and I just don’t have the finances for that on top of the insulin’s shots. So they decided to stop seeing him because of this. Very disappointing and irritating.
