It felt a lot more commercial in there than what I expected. Also, we did not enjoy that the fish was served with tomato sauce; it’s a weird combination. We eat at a lot of higher end restaurants and love to try new places when we stay in Calgary. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be back.
Food was good, service was lacking. Meals mixed up, no serving spoons for share plates. Had to wave waiter over to make our dinner order.
Really poor service last night. Our server was not trained for this level of dinning. She was rushed and not detailed enough in serving us and our needs. I commented that I didn’t enjoy the last glass of wine and she was not interested in offering some other options. Unfortunately we have heard great things about Saltlik and it was very disappointing. We will not recommended dinning here nor ever return ourselves. Food was average at best. So sorry to have spent $200 here last night for 2 of us.
Well, the wine was outstanding! The meal started out on a pretty sour note. They brought our son sour chocolate milk and it went down hill from there. After ordering 4 steaks and a pasta dish the waiter came back to let us know that they were out of baked potatoes. (6:30 pm on a Monday) Really? no baked potatoes? I usually have good experiences at Saltlik, but this time was not so great. Our server was okay, but when I requested the reservation, I asked that we please not be sat by the kitchen. We were sat RIGHT beside the kitchen, with an insanely bright spotlight inside the kitchen shining through the glass barrier at our eyes - we sat sideways most of the night to avoid being blinded. Food was awesome, service got extremely slow. Waited long time for dessert, long wait to pay.
Server was arrogant, non caring, and not willing to accommodate for lactose intolerant.
