Food was mediocre at best, and came out extremely slow. We came here as a group of 4 for the Summer Feast. They never gave us the Summer Feast menu until we asked. Looking at the regular menu, and tallying everything up, the Summer Feast was actually MORE EXPENSIVE that ordering a la carte on the regular menu. Starters were great. We ordered a steak and a burger for our meal. The steak was easily the worst we have had in Calgary. Do not order the steak. The service was good but we noticed she was trying to up sell us by not mentioning the happy hour menu. We even heard the chef (Asian guy) who came from the back loudly say “we only sold $3300 in food today”. The decor was nice. The beef carpaccio and tuna tartare was excellent. We left because no one came to the table to serve us for 20 mins at least. Went next door hoping Charcut could get us in last minute and they sat and served us right away!

Average at best. Took my two friends to Saltlik while I was staying in town. The meal started off fine - nice spot on the patio and a polite server. Some good drink specials. Upon asking our server for some clarification/info on type of steak cuts, she proceeded to simply only point out the different sizes that each steak was offered in. We picked this restaurant for my birthday dinner due to it's high ratings but we were thoroughly disappointed with the experience. When we informed the host it was a birthday dinner we were offered a complement glass of champagne but we noticed several other tables in the restaurant also had received the same glass of champagne... Our server Jill was incredible, she really saved the experience with her excellent service. The food was so disappointing. We had issues with both appetizers and our mains. Our appetizers were really badly portioned and excessive in some coleslaw garnish. My salmon was the worst, completely dry and flavourless. Same with my friends’ gnocchi, and his steak was overcooked. Oh man... maybe the kitchen was having the worst day of its life. Overall this was good but not as good as expected mainly due to the food and steak in particular. I had the NY strip (medium rare) and I would recommend Buchanan's or even the Keg over Saltlik for steak quality and flavour. The service was excellent and my salad, my baked potato, and my wife's salmon were excellent but a steakhouse should have good steak above all else and that's why I likely won't be back.

We go here semi- regularly because we have always had a very nice evening. But this time was much different. We made a reservation 3 days prior and then got sat in the basement at a bar table. When you want a romantic evening at a high end restaurant, sitting at a bar table isn't ideal. After being served our drinks, they tasted nothing like they had in the past and we made poorly.
