helpful, friendly staff. They let me mess with whatever instruments I wanted to, and right after i was finished they came and wiped the stuff down with disinfectant. They were very diligent about the health crisis and keeping everyone safe.
On the one hand Sam Ash is comparable to Guitar Center as chain stores go; inside the store I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I grew up in Hollywood, with hole-in-the-wall music stores (including the original Guitar Center on Sunset Blvd). The staff is helpful, but mostly they leave you alone to look around and see what grabs you.
