RUN AWAY. THEY ARE THEIFS. In network, my first visit which should have been covered I end up with a big bill, and multiple bills that doesn't reflect the same services. Mind you, they included multiple different prices quoting either skin removal, biopsy, or debridement of nails - aka THEY ONLY CLIPPED A TOENAIL. I met with Dr Lowenstein who barely checked any marks I asked and had me topless while two interns/newbies were in the room without asking my consent. Well, I have used had Dr Hsiao remove a couple of Basel cell and this more than 12 months ago. Then CSI is bought by "Schweiger Dermatology" and they start sending me bills for procedures that my insurer had already covered last year? Call their phone lines and you do not get a real person but an AI assistant. Yikes, imagine your worst customer service billing nightmare, that is what this place is about. Stay away, there are better businesses out there.
I've been to CSI for about a year and a half and have been to the following locations: Marina/cow hollow, Presidio, Nob Hill and Daly City. The reason for that is because I really liked my provider, Danielle Daravos. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, this review is not about her whatsoever. She is amazing and I'm sad that I will no longer be seeing her as she helped clear my acne a lot. However, CSI is absolutely horrible. Trying to do any scheduling with them is a nightmare. What's the point of automated messages when they don't work to confirm nor cancel, prompting people to call in to make changes, BUT THEY NEVER PICK UP. Always straight to voicemail, any time during business hours throughout the week. How this place has returning patients is beyond me, making profit off no show fees?
Absolutely the worst "customer service" I have been trying for a WEEK to cancel an appointment. If you get lucky and someone answers the phone, you're going to be great. however, if you get shoved to voicemail, forget it. I've left three voicemails in the past week and have had ZERO calls back. I have been wondering if I should ask SFPD to do a wellness check to make sure they are okay. Dr. was incompetent . only sees you for seconds and has no idea what's goin on. They are billing me for a no show that I haven't scheduled, shockingly the billing issue has been posted by other reviewers, it may be on a fraud level. someone should shut them down for their lack of care and financial systemic over-billing.
I came to California Skin Institute after receiving a referral from my pcp for my eczema. The doctor came in, glanced at my skin, and suggested either injections or a pill that they would need to monitor, since it's still in the testing phase. When I asked if there were any less invasive treatments, he said he could prescribe steroid creams and then left. For this 3 minute office visit with no tests, I was charged $300. I do not review very often but highly recommend going to another skin specialist. They have had me come in 3 times and have been unable to help me with my rash. They were looking to get intake fees. Super unprofessional. The medications Danielle Davaros recommended, I have been unable to get due to miscommunication on their part to my pharmacy.
