California Skin Institute at Nob Hill has unfortunately provided me with months of minor frustration. For over 6 months I had called periodically trying to discuss a charge that was excessively priced. After many many unreturned calls they finally got back to me, were incredibly rude and scolded me for not researching the costs of their treatments before hand. Dr. wasn't great - office staff was totally non-functional. They created a follow up for me without my knowledge or consent, then charged me a no-show. I had to call several times to get it removed - each time they said they would do it, but I kept getting bills for it.

This is for their questionable billing practice. Be careful when seeing them. Because they are a medical office and beauty office, if you ask them a question they think is medical, they will bill your insurance and then charge you copay AFTER you have also paid for the beauty procedure out of pocked. They don't tell you until you get a bill. Bad business practice, not sure it's legal. Have made my insurance aware and they are investigating.

I'm really disappointed by my experience here. While the first appointment was great and the general care i revived was good, the cancelled an appointment i had for the clear and brilliant treatment one day before. This appointment was made for my wedding and they didn't provide me with an other options other than cancelling. They said they could reschedule but two days before my wedding which was not an option. Danielle Davaros - I have seen Danielle twice now for Juvederm & Clear & Brilliant, respectively . She has an amazing eye with Juvederm and very natural aesthetic for those interested in a slightly softer look. Clear & Brilliant has given great results thus far in terms of helping to even out minor sun damages and uneven skin tone. I highly recommend consulting with Danielle to discuss and coordinating with Jonathan who could not be more professional and delightful to work with!

Corporate medical office, run to make money and avoid any liability. What does this mean? No common sense determinations, only test, test (expense, expense) to avoid liabiltiy. I went in for a couple of sun damage spots on my back. The doctor recommended a biopsy of one with no mention of price. He also freezed another one. 15 minutes. Insurance was charged approx $1000. Insurance lowered it to $580. This does not happen at one person doctor offices, where you develop a RELATIONSHIP.

Beyond frustrating experience all around here. As someone who has a bit of health anxiety to start, this definitely made everything 100x worse. To start, when I arrived for my initial consultation, there was an elderly woman sitting in the waiting room trying to fill out her paperwork and struggling quite a bit. Honestly it was very sad as she was so hunched over with her face basically in her lap as she tried to read the paperwork, and was clearly incapable of filling out the forms herself. As for the actual medical treatment, Dr. Hsiao seems competent in his treatment of my non-cosmetic dermatological issues. I wish he would have given me a ballpark estimate of what the procedures would cost--the $400+ bill was a bit of a shock given that I have decent insurance. Lesson learned--ask what procedures will cost before doing them. Their billing department, however, is frustrating--the bills say that they accept payment online (they don't), and they don't seem to answer the phone, nor do they call you back. So the ... read more
