We happened to visit during Restaurant week, the food was slow to come out at first, then the appetizers and first came at the exact same time, risotto was too salty, and the scallops were undercooked. Some of the food items were prepared well, but, overall they must have been understaffed during the off season which we assume was the cause of the missteps in food preparation and service. We would try it again during the normal / busy season.

Best restaurant on island. Food is wonderful. Service is always on point, and the view and ambience are classic Hilton Head Island.
Ela’s is the one restaurant we consider a “Must Visit” on our frequent trips to HHI. The location id beautiful and they always honor any special requests. My only complaint is their Scored Flounder is so delicious I have a hard time considering and other menu items😁. On this visit, they had a new “Restaurant Week” menu that was an excellent value because, unlike many restaurants, Ela’s offered generous portions of expensive selections rather than “scaled down” offerings of smaller portions of less expensive items. It was fantastic and the service was amazing it’s my favorite restaurant on Hilton Head
Had an anniversary dinner there. Received a complimentary glass of champagne. Service was very good. Waiter had nice personality. Ambiance was very nice.
There is only one complaint, we were never informed that they add a 2% charge for debit/credit card. Maybe list cash price versus card price. Otherwise, everything is excellent!
