We had an excellent table by the window. The menu has a nice selection. We enjoyed our meals. Sadly the server (who never introduced himself) was not very attentive., and had not brought out my salad before our entrees showed up. He did compensate us with a free dessert but I don’t eat dessert...I wanted my salad when I was supposed to have my salad ...
Great setting over the harbor. Attentive but not pushy service. About the best grouper presentation on our trip.
Food was excellent except for the gumbo. Portions were small but adequate.

Ela's is located in Shelter Cove's marina-like setting. There is excellent outdoor dining available with heaters. We choose, however, to eat inside because of the cool breeze. There was pleasant entertainment by a vocalist. The menu offers many varied selections. We started with fried green tomatoes and a wedge. The tomatoes were tasty but a tad greasy. Just found a new favorite restaurant in Hilton Head Island!!!
Requested a standard indoor table with a view for our special occasion.... wow... had a circular booth with a fantastic view. Our meals.... split lobster and crabcakes was outstanding. Quickly has become our favorite restaurant in Hilton Head.
Hosted friends who are staying with us on this visit to HHI. Brunch at Ela’s on the water is a regular treat for us when on the island, but a new experience for our friends. They have had dinner at Ela’s but not Sunday brunch. Our server, Kimberly, made sure everything was excellent (as we always find is true). The Benedict menu met everyone’s taste.
