We have eaten here several times and always enjoyed it. 30 minutes into our meal I was saying I need to write a really good review. The drinks were great, the appetizer was amazing, and the service good.....then they delivered my entree and it wasn't made how I ordered it. It was a $34.00 entree that I was charged an extra $8 for my request to change the entree a bit. I agreed to it, but something should have been done when I told the waiter it was wrong and he agreed.
We sat outdoors, having a great waterside view. Unfortunately, tables were close together, and most were filled in during our dinner, with no chance for acceptable social distancing. Every other table should have been left unoccupied.
We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here for dinner. I called a week in advance to schedule and specifically told them it was our anniversary. I do this so that if there is anything special you all do that there may be time to set up. Some restaurants set a candle or have confetti on your table but unfortunately ELA's did not do that. On our recent trip to HHI, it was very important to us to research restaurants that not only had wonderful food and scenic views but also those that were taking proper precautions in response to Covid-19. We relied heavily on restaurant websites and also customer reviews on OpenTable. We requested outdoor seating. Outside tables offer romantic atmosphere. Service and food were excellent.
We enjoyed it so much we went back two nights later. Great food, service and views. It is all you can ask for.
The food and ambiance are always really good here. The prices are pretty full. The wait staff consistently rushed us. Open Table asked if it was a special occasion, and it was, but there was not any mention or evidence of it at the restaurant. Why ask?
