On our recent trip to HHI, it was very important to us to research restaurants that not only had wonderful food and scenic views but also those that were taking proper precautions in response to Covid-19. We relied heavily on restaurant websites and also customer reviews on OpenTable. We requested outdoor seating. Outside tables offer romantic atmosphere. Service and food were excellent.
We enjoyed it so much we went back two nights later. Great food, service and views. It is all you can ask for.
The food and ambiance are always really good here. The prices are pretty full. The wait staff consistently rushed us. Open Table asked if it was a special occasion, and it was, but there was not any mention or evidence of it at the restaurant. Why ask?
As locals, ELA’S has become one of our favorite places. We love sitting outside and watching the harbour traffic and the food and service are wonderful.

We sat on the upper deck to eat brunch and it was delightful with the view of the marina and the boat activity coming and going. They have a good amount of shade on the deck. We were the only patrons wearing masks but the staff all wore masks. Food was very good. Overall a very good experience.
If you want to see beautiful Hilton Head sunsets, Ela’s is the place to be. Located in Shelter Cove, it’s very easy to get to and it’s nice to walk around outside and see all the boats docked before dinner. Atmosphere and view are amazing. So is the food. I have food allergies and our server helped me to pick out food I liked that could be prepared gluten free. It’s pricey, but worth it for a special date.
