Opened just a few years ago, it's our first visit to Ela's. In my opinion, it's one of the most scenic restaurants in all of Hilton Head, situated in Shelter Cove Marina. Ela's has a profesional staff, providing excellent service. The food was superb, with American/ Low Country offerings. The seafood was delicious,, and we will definitely be back on our annual visits to the island.
The food was quite good, but a bit pricey. The service was average. The setting is lovely, especially if you can sit outside or by the window. Even though we had made a reservation through open table, the reserved table's location was not too great. I had the whole flounder which was very good. My wife had the scallops which were also quite good, but the portion was quite small (four average size scallops).
The food was excellent. We both had fish and it was cooked to perfection. The plates were hot and so was the fish. Accompanying veggies were also good and the presentation was beautiful. Loved the pear arugula salad too. The flavors all blended together very well. We split the tuxedo cake for dessert which was also great and very prettily plated. Terrific menu...had the halibut special for the evening and it was scrumptious. Other diners in our party also raved about the sole and mahi mahi meals. Fabulous view and excellent service. Our server Francesca, was most attentive and pleasant.
Appetizers, dinners and desserts all wonderful. Salads left us a little cold. Beautiful niews inside and out, and good music from the bar area added to late-night dining experience. A very nice night out!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Ela's. From the moment we walked in and were then offered the best table-for-two on the outside patio, we felt immediately welcomed. Our waiter, Sam, was very pleasant and attentive. We both ordered the pan-roasted grouper which was beautifully presented, layered over a puree of potatoes; some fresh vegetables (brussels sprouts, haricort verts) and some greens. Food and service was very good. Great find !
Hubby and I went for our first night at Hilton Head. I had the Cobia special; he had the crab cakes. All were beautifully prepared and presented. Good selection of wines. Finished with a delicious pecan pie. Great service. Stylishly decorated. May have to return before we go home next weekend. Great experience!
Although the menu is small, the food was excellent. Better to do a few things very well than have everything be just ok. Beautiful view of the marina.
