The food was really hot which was really nice. I wish they would have more options on the kids menu. We know most kids can be pickey eaters, but our daughter is not one of them and really likes real food. Mac and cheese and chicken fingers don't cut it. We had to order her the filet and it was a little over cooked. We really like Red Fish because they have all the traditional kid items along with a beef and potato option. Ela's could add some type of fresh fish to the kids menu.
We were ending our vacation & looked for a great new place to dine. The menu/location looked great online. We were seated quickly on the outside balcony, but then the experience went south. The waitress informed us that both dishes that were on the menu that we came for were out. No grilled lobster or Mahi-Mahi. We were seated before 8pm & they were already out :( Not an isolated problem since many other reviewers had the same issue. Some of the dishes that we ordered were great, like the calamari app & the scallop entree. O... read more
Grouper dish was very good. However at 7:30 they were out of mahi, lobster, and swordfish which was practically half the menu. Beware when ordering the ceviche is not ceviche at all, it was a cocktail sauce/salsa with chunks of shrimp in it. Quite unappetizing! Ambieance was very nice outside, table lanterns were too big to see the person across from you so we put ours on the floor. Overall I would go back & try it again since my entree was quite good.
Food was OK, but appetizers and entrees seemed to be overpriced. Also, on a personal note, I put on my reservation request that we were celebrating our 32nd anniversary. Not one person at the restaurant mentioned it.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Ela's. Everything was great from the Martini's, the appetizers, and I had the scallops over crab risotto. It was the best dinner we had all week in Hilton Head, and we went out almost every night. I highly recommend Ela's and hope it's there next year when we go back. Also, musician was great in the bar.
A most enjoyable evening. Everything was as advertised. We were able to dine outside and enjoy the harbor sounds and sights.
It was our first time at Ela's and it was just great!!
Ela's was an excewllent gem, as no one recommended the resturant to me. I liked the beautiful view of the harbor, the service and the food was excellent! I would highly recommend it! Regards, Craig Bolton
