Service was slow. Wine: a good size glass was poured. Appetizer: calamari was excellent, fried green tomatoes were not very good. Entrees scallops were very good, but being from Maryland, the Maryland Crab Cake was not very good. Dessert: we ordered key lime pie and pecan pie - both were actually tarts which was disappointing as we got more crust and less filling than had they been actual slices of pie.

New Years Eve. Our waitress seemed like this was her first night at work. The food was really just not that good. The ambience of the place is outstanding though.

Wonderful! Best dining experience we've had in the past year. The menu items have been thoughtfully chosen with taste, quality, and presentation that you don't find outside of big cities. We have dined there several times. Every meal offers new pleasures of culinary delight. We select moderately priced wine and it is excellent. From the beginning to the end everything was top notch. Professional service, excellent food with spectacular views. I would highly recommend. I plan on going back for New Year's dinner.
A new addition to Hilton Head, Ela's Blu Water Grill is located right on the harbor in the Shelter Cove area. When we were there in September, we sat outside - nice breeze, great service and beautiful view. Food was superb. This visit we ate inside, listened to live music, were attended by professional staff and enjoyed an excellent meal. Will definitely visit again!
Is it fair to rate a fine dining restaurant on Thanksgiving? Probably not. It was an excellent meal except: How can you have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with no sweet potatoes, especially in the South?? Other than that omission, I thought it was a stroke of genius to offer both their regular menu AND the traditional Thanksgiving one (minus sweet potatoes as noted above.)
