It all began in 1993, when two local boys in Gulf Shores, Alabama decided to open up a casual family-focused seafood restaurant on the Gulf Coast. The idea was to create a restaurant where people would feel welcome to be themselves, families could afford to dine out together and strangers would leave as friends. I have been twice already and service and food have been outstanding both times. Crab cakes are wonderful and the steamed shrimp platter was great today. Glad they are in Cullman.

I was afraid the turnaround time would be terrible since it was so packed but I quickly got a seat, albeit at the bar. That was a good thing or I might not have met Warren, bartender/waiter...that guy is a hoot and will be a wonderful asset! Great service too! It’s nice to eat somewhere you truly feel welcome and when the staff is having fun. Customer service goes a LONG way so keep that up! I got a sampling of a few things and I highly recommend the fried oysters, oysters Rockefeller(delicious! they balanced the spinach with the other ingredients better than any others I’ve had), and a stuffed crab. Can’t wait to try more!

We’ve eaten at Shrimp Baskets for years. So happy to finally have one in Cullman! Fresh, yummy Gulf seafood, reasonable prices, casual atmosphere. What more could you ask for?
