I've had great experiences here for the past 4 years, until this year. This year I've had appointment with Dr. Skinner, and I cautions: DO NOT GO TO HER. She made me so uncomfortable and confused that I cried after the appointment. She didn't help me at all either. She does not know how to treat her patients. It hurts me to think about it.
I went to the Damascus office and had J Sorenson do my exam. I found her to have an uncomfortable and judgmental attitude. Her bedside manner was horrendous and her knowledge regarding the questions I was posing was below what I would expect from a professional. I felt attacked rather than attended to, like she was reprimanding me instead of educating or empathizing with me. VERY JUDGEMENTAL!!!! I've seen three different doctors within the practice and they were all extremely rude and they don't listen to anything.
First, Dr. Bernstien is the best doctor in this practice. He is warm and spends as much time during the visit as needed; I never once felt rushed by him. On the other hand, I always felt rushed by most of the other doctors. Dr. Simmonds was my least favorite, in fact he was so rude and cold that even my husband was upset. I also had a bad experience with the doctor that delivered my baby, she came in once to see me prior to pushing. I thought my nurse was going to deliver my baby and she almost did. Dr. Simmonds did a D&C on me a number of years ago. He perforated my uterus and caused a great deal of complications for me afterwards. He discharged me from the hospital without ever coming to see me after the surgery, even though I couldn't walk. Neither he nor his office ever called to follow-up. I also had trouble getting my records and notes from them. I would be very wary of working with them.
