Get directionsI highly recommend Homewood Residence at Coconut Creek. My dad had some second thoughts, but they couldn’t have been nicer! They are fabulous. Every one of the girls is very nice and helpful. We’re very happy with the activities offered.
We like that they are smaller, they have three buildings and each one has 30-35 residents. Smaller as far as the rooms, too; each apartment is like a large bedroom with a bathroom. They do respite, so we are trying it out until the end of December. After that you could do a month to month, with no commitment. Great price, they really worked with us. Her needs are a little more than everyone realized, though and when they add on the care charges at the end of December, the cost will go through the roof.
It seemed a little cleaner and a little fresher than the community that we ended up choosing, but in terms of overall value, it didn't compare. The price for what they offer wasn't worth it.
would need 2 sperate rooms. good feel to community
My mom was only there for about 3-4 months. She wasn't happy being there and wanted to be with family so my brother bought a house so she could live with him. Her daily needs were met such as meds and food but nobody encouraged or assisted her to shower and there were a few occasions where she ran out of clean clothes because her laundry wasn't being done per their laundry schedule and I had to call and ask if they could do it. The facility was very nice and well kept but she just didn't really fit in or relate to the other ... read more

My husband was in memory care fell broke hip went to hospital for surgery. Upon returning to sonata received no therapy was left to lay in bed for a week. Evidently, food was brought to his bedside and he was unable to eat him self. Food was taken away untouched Therefore, he was brought back to the hospital diagnosis was failure to thrive. I brought him home with hospice critical care where he survived . Never take you loved one to this place.
The nursing care at Sonata at Coconut Creek sucks and they do not care about the residents at all. I would never recommend them to others looking for memory care, it was a horrible experience.

I would tell others that the way the place gets managed is okay. The rest of the community and staff isn't as good. The lady at the front desk is charming. The manager is fine. The caregivers weren't good to work with.
I would want others to know that my mother was here for 2 months before we pulled her out. She was not getting her medications properly no matter how many times we spoke to them about it. The dosages and timing were always wrong or they just did not give it to her. The food was not good at all, they served the same things all the time so my mom was not eating and we had to bring her food. They were all processed meals and very poor quality. We also learned after she got here that they only make a meal once a day for lunch, a... read more
