We have used SPAH since the mid-80s when I had an incorrigible, nearly-feral cat, that only I adored! The staff and doctors at SPAH are patient, knowledgeable, open-minded and I can't imagine going anywhere else. Currently we have a Greyhound rescue and two Siamese. Recently the dog had health issues and she actually panicked at the vet's office, something she had never done, visibly shaking. This is an excellent animal hospital - I couldn't recommend it more. The entire staff is friendly, professional, and empathetic. They have always made time for emergency visits, explained all options clearly, and made difficult decisions easier for us. They give excellent care, genuinely love animals, and always go above and beyond expectations.

Can't say enough about this practice, and all of its members. From the office staff, to each of the technicians, assistants and the Veterinarians, it is crystal clear their love and care for animals. I began my relationship with this group as a second opinion, in 1991, and have never looked back. We have been taking our 15 year old cat here for at least 10 years. The staff and vets are all very caring for your pets and helpful with suggestions for your pet's health and well-being. They also go ABOVE and BEYOND when it comes to appointment follow-up. :-)

This is an outstanding veterinary practice. It's 20 minutes from our house, up windy and hilly roads, and our two cats hate the drive and puke almost every time, BUT, we will not consider a practice closer to home. The care that the staff provides is thorough and they do it with great care and compassion. Their follow up is also stellar; you will always get at least one post-visit phone call. Can't recommend them highly enough!

My dogs have been patients of South Putnam Animal Hospital since 2004 and think the world of them. The receptionists make it easy to get an appointment, order medicine or get advice from a doctor when you call. When you arrive they greet you warmly and are efficient from start to finish. The doctors are smart, caring and fair. I use Dr. Heiber, she has performed two surgeries on my dog. She also held our hands as we had to put our other dog down. We have been coming to South Putnam Animal Hospital for approximately 15 years for veterinary care for my dogs. The care we have received from Drs. Julie Fixman, Kathi Heiber and Cindy Kosacz has always been top notch. They are all excellent diagnosticians, intelligent and comprehensive practitioners and always take the time to ensure I understand my dog's diagnosis, plan of care and options. Ive been using this vet since moving to Mahopac in 2011. I've probably dealt with every vet at this practice and I've always felt like they cared. We mainly see Dr. Mason who we love. The staff and doctors do follow up phone calls to check on my dog when he's having issues. Most importantly they take their time, listen, and don't rush through the appointment. I highly recommend this practice.
