Highly recommend. Easy walk to King Street for an afternoon of shopping, at least five little coffee shops or bakeries within blocks, and some wonderful restaurants as well. The place is set back from the street, so it was quiet, and the beds...well, the beds were incredible (and I feel like I have slept on some amazing beds over the years.) I also appreciated that we had been provided enough coffee to make a pot for our first morning's stay.
Lovely house, gracious owner lives upstairs, kind but low key. Highly recommend
Great place to stay for a couple. Great space for 2 with a wonderful seating area outside comfy bed and TV swivels to be viewed in the entire room.
What I look for in a place is cleanliness and this was it. Very nice and clean. Beautiful historical home with all the comforts of home. Very pleased with my stay here. Would come again.
Fantastic place in a wonderful location. Short walk to king street. Plenty of space for us to relax and enjoy being with friends.
Everything is exactly as the listing says. Easy in & out, clean space, great neighborhood. Would stay here again.
Pros: comfortable, clean, close to downtown. Cons: the location literally backs up to a very busy road (17 So) . Even with a privacy fence between the house/road, the constant flow of traffic made the location very noisy both day and night. If a light sleeper, I would not recommend (I put a noise app on under my pillow). Cons: upon our arrival, we noticed stains on the seat cushions of wicker chairs in the main living area. The disposal in the kitchen sink was also loud when on (indicating it maybe broken). We messaged the o... read more
Really good access to King St and beyond! The place was very clean. Multiple apps on the Roku, so we just logged into our YouTube TV account whenever we wanted to watch - rememering to logout before we left, of course! Two FYIs: 1. The washer/dryer is all-in-one, and we couldn't figure out how to just dry only to de-wrinkle. It always wanted to fill with water and spin first. Watched some videos, but never got it to work. 2. Location is on a busy road, so there's car and foot traffic. Nothing terrible, but it's noticeable.
Clean airbnb and very comfortable. However, the location is not good. It is not in a safe area and we were unable/didn’t feel comfortable walking to and from downtown in the evening. Spent a lot of money on Uber, because of this.
Business response:
Jack, Hampton Park/Wagner Terrace is a neighborhood full of families, kids, schools, and amazing restaurants. It is also 2 blocks away from the water. This area is by no means unsafe. I know this is subjective... but I have lived in Charleston for 8 years and this is honestly one of the safest parts of town. I am stunned to see you thought this. This apartment is very descriptive in the listing when it comes to location. I am sorry you did not see this when booking. Sincerely, Team Duvet
