The Summit of Uptown was the perfect place for my father. The staff are top notch! Being both compassionate and flexible the Summit was understanding and able to pivot with the uncertainty and many changes that can occur as your family gets older and moves from being independent to relying on others. My father was excited at this new adventure which could be scary for many because of the personal connections made with the staff at the Summit.
I would highly recommend the Summit for your loved ones. My parents reluctantly moved into the Summit and after just a couple of weeks, the staff had made them feel so comfortable that they did not want to leave. They love the variety of food selections, and the activities have enough variety that there is something for both my father and my mother. There is a men's club, which is wonderful too. [Name removed] was very knowledgeable and Helpful by working to get Dad into independent living, w/ ala carte services, and not being satisfied with mandating assisted living. Complementary daytime chauffeur service to anywhere within 5 mile radius. This is an older building, the newer part ( assisted-living) was built 30 years ago. Being located in the middle of downtown Park Ridge is nice - easy access to nearby shops, the Pickwick Theater, and the park. [Name removed] spoke directly to Dad, not to me while ignoring Dad.
Residents were active and social and happy. Many well dressed residents! Dining area was beautiful and the Sunday brunch looked delicious. Common areas were nice. This facility is a converted hotel and is quite large in my opinion. It has had a couple renovations and is nice, however I still felt the vibe of a hotel as it relates to the residential floors. Mom seems at ease living here My Mom has been here a while and she’s very happy. The staff is good to her and she likes the food. There are usually 2 entrees at night that she can choose from and she likes the variety that they provide. The staff has always been very cordial when speaking with anyone in our family and if there are any issues or if we have any questions, they always say how happy they are to help. Great location. Staff was very helpful and clearly had a desire to work with me. Higher priced but very homey with many activities going on. Facility has all required on site having recently been upgraded. So Far I'm comparing this facility to all others.
Options for care and comfort This was a nice tour from the friendly staff. The community was clean and we liked the atmosphere. The menu looked appealing. They offer activities for the residents who are able to participate. We would suggest that others tour this community for the care that is available for a loved one.
I loved this place nice and charming people...hospitality fabulous.
