DO NOT USE THIS "company". They have exceeded our contract by 2 months or 50%. I have had panels on my roof for 2.5 months. NO ONE WILL HOOK THEM UP to my house! I get all these excuses about projects I don't care about! But never any info on my project. They have all my money, yet I'm still paying Full electric bills! As far as the installation and panels themselves are concerned, we have no issues and are pretty happy with everything. The install team was courteous, did good work, and everything went well. However, the management of the project was not good. The main frustration that we have was the constant feeling that the company did not want to be accountable for things and preferred to say that it was ours or someone else’s (the city’s) fault. To this point the company, communication, and product have been lack luster. All of the positive reviews have to be from employees or family of the business. It is next to impossible to get anyone on the phone after you sign a contract. Send an email they say.... But they don't respond for a month at a time. I have a very real scenario right now. We started the process in February and they worked rapidly until they got our money. The system was supposed to be installed between April and June. We are still waiting. Now they say October, maybe. Whenever they requested anything, we immediately sent it. They are good at placing the blame on others. The slow part of the bureaucratic phase is sun badgers portion. We are at this point in our project very disappointed with Sun Badger Solar. You are in the business of installing solar systems. I find it very unprofessional to install part of a system, when some of the system is on back order or unavailable. I also believe that when a sales person comes over and states you will not start paying for your until it is completely installed. Our goal is always to install the solar system all at once, and have your system energized prior to your loan payments starting! We have mixed feelings about our experience with Sun Badger Solar. In short, the equipment itself is great and the sales and installation teams were outstanding. However, a simple miscalculation on Sun Badger’s part, and refusal to own up to the mistake from upper level leadership, including the president, Trevor Sumner, really soured our experience, so unfortunately we cannot recommend Sun Badger. After agreeing on a price and SIGNING A CONTRACT to hire them for our solar installation, they said there was in internal "miscommunication" and they would have to charge me an additional $3,600 for the already agreed upon service. They cancelled our contract and refused to do any of the agreed upon work unless the additional money was paid.

As you are aware, the sales rep who made the mistake on your contract has been terminated. As with any contract that is sold egregiously below commercial terms and found to be so by the seller, this case within 48 hours of signing, the contract can be cancelled because it cannot be fulfilled. This can and does sometimes happen, especially online, when serious mistakes are made. I chose Sunbadger due to the good reviews. Unfortunately the estimated SRECs in their quote was more than $2000 higher than what the solar aggregator said I was getting. Oh, and they take 10% of that too, not accounted for in the quote. Either someone made a mistake, or there are some shady practices going on. The president of the company told me where to take my legal inquiries...
I think it is the environmentally responsible thing to do to add renewable energy sources, however, I would like to do it in a financially responsible way. I made it clear to my sales person that the 10+ year payback was difficult for me because I am not confident I can run the farm (where I live) that long. The installation went well and looks professional. Cindy, We do our best to calculate returns based on specific utility net metering. Your system is far from our first on that utility. Energy production AND your homes usage can fluctuate from year to year. To say your ROI is an additional year out is complete speculation on your part, having not even seen half a years production, let alone 5+ years.
