My time at Sunrise was overall a great experience. Most of the staff was amazing, although some was not helpful and unfriendly. Management definitely does not communicate well with their staff, and because of that it caused confusion and frustration to me and other people in this facility as well. Counselors and TAs all did a great job taking care of me and trying their best to meet all of my needs.
The group sessions were very good, especially the ones led by Joe, Taylor, Angelica, and Yusef. My counselor, Jessie, was not a competent counselor. She was not truthful to me and shared in front of my primary group that my mother had called her about some private information. My mother disputes this and says that Jessie called her several times and my mother felt like she was fishing for information. Also, Jessie did not inform me of my discharge date. Most caring staff
Sunrise House provided a safe, comfortable, and honest space for me to detox from my drug of choice. They were extremely attentive to my needs and made me feel heard. The amenities were more than enough to meet my needs. I would definitely suggest Sunrise House to anyone struggling with substance abuse. They saved my life! I am forever grateful.
The staff is caring and professional and never hesitate to ask if there anything more they can do for you. they are extreamly vigilant. For me it was a life saver as I could have never quit on my own.
