Sunset and Dr. Grimmett are the absolute best!! If you love your furry friend, you must bring them to see the amazing staff!! Our 8 yo old lab was having daily seizures, over weight, etc. One simple visit and she is on the meds and food she needs and acting like a 2 yo lab again!! They love your fur baby as if they were theirs!!
These people are really great! I use a vet who comes to my home for routine vaccinations. I've used her for a long time and really love her and want to continue with her. However, she doesn't do surgery or some other things she isn't equipped for. I wondered how I would be received when I called Sunset Vets about spaying my new pup. They could not have been more accommodating! They reached out to my vet to get my dog's history and treated me like I'd been their customer for years. Exceptional care by excellent veterinarians! One of my dogs had a bum leg and Dr. Grimmett wasn't satisfied when the tests showed nothing wrong. She referred us on to a specialist where we received bad news about our beloved PePe. Dr. Grimmett and Dr. Kennemer were with us every step of the way. They were never too busy for advice on treatment or increasing pain medicine during his final days. Sunset Veterinary Clinic is wonderful. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the veterinarians are all very caring and have great compassion for the animals. Unfortunately, our first experience with the Clinic was when our dog became very ill and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Sunset veterinary clinic is the only place I will ever send my 2 dogs. All the doctors put your pet first, but also, Dr. Grimmett has the highest amount of compassion and love for all the sweet animals that come through Sunset Vet. She has loved my Dexter and Bowser for years and they are always excited to see her (probably because she gives them treats!) We have used this clinic since 2001. We have had multiple dogs and they have always been upfront about cost and honest with us. We have had a dog with diabetes and a thyroid condition; a dog with cancer; and a dog with an internal tumor unknown if it was cancer. We were given many options on what was best for each dog. Not the greatest place. Wants to get you out of the room quick. Doesn't have a good bedside manner. Overpriced!! Upsells!! New staff all the time.
We had a very good vet here. He left & was the last vet to see our dog. Our dog had had his yearly testing for heart-worms (negative) & given a prescription to prevent them. I went in to get his pill like I always had & a tech told me that the dog may have changed weight & since the doctor that saw him last was no longer there - I would have to bring him back in for a visit (I already paid for this). I took my dog in today to followup an appointment and exam from 45 days ago. At that exam they indicated my dog needed a DA2PPV (3 year) shot and it would be 37.75. I clarified at that time that there would not be another exam fee as it was just a followup vaccination. They confirmed this. I cconfirmed before bringing in my dog that the total charge would be just the $37.75 and no exam fee again. That was confirmed.
