Thai Square, Minories - Went with a group - some of the meals were good others were tasteless. Have been previously and liked the astmosphere..pitty the food didn't live up to expectations.
The Thai Square at Minories near Algate had decent food, however it arrived on cold plates. The venue was quite large and cavernous, leading to the feeling that we were in a canteen, compounded by the noise from the downstairs bar. In all the food was better that your average Thai gastropub, but not by much.
Thai Square Minories was, as usual, providing the standard fayre. We had mixed starters which was varied, though mostly deep fried and a selection of main courses. The chillie beef with lime leaves is a good choice. It does feel a little like a canteen, with many people jabbering and phones ringing. Service can also be a little slow but that's Thai Square!
Thai square minories is ok if you want a quick bite to eat however i must say alot of the food especially the curries was watered down. I had the jungle curry which was meant to be extremely hot and tasty however the sauce was like water with a little bit of flavour. There are defintely better Thai places around however as mentioned its good for a quick bite.
Was very busy during lunch but service was still very swift and good. A bit on the noisy side but cannot fault otherwise. Would visit again.
when we visited Thai Square last night we tried a new selection of dishes which were delicious. The only downside was the over-enthusiastic service, probably as a result of this quiet time of year, which meant that plates and glasses were snatched from us almost before finishing and all the diners were seated very close together with lots of empty tables round the outside
Thai Square - Minories The food was quite nice, but have had better thai food else where and was a bit pricey. The service was great. I didn't us the toilets, so gave a average rating. The couple next to us complained about three times with regards to her food, but i think they were overdoing considering the first complaint came down to her own fault of ordering the wrong food in the first place. She had gluten allergy and should know what she can eat and not eat.
Food great as always and good value too
I went with a group of 12 people for lunch here. The food was quite nice but nothing special. Pleasant surroundings and quite busy. Service was fairly efficient, but we had one meal not arrive. We all had a starter and a main. People did not drink alcohol and the bill came to 22 quid a head. Not bad, but in terms of Thai food, there are probably better value places in London to go. All in all, a good experience and a nice lunch was had by all.
