Service was very poor, and staff tended to talk to each other in Thai, rather than communicate with the customers. Such a shame. I was put upstairs again, which really needs doing up. Airconditioning was on full blast on an evening where it wasn't so hot outside, and it was freezing cold.
The ambiance is rated lower than the others as the dining areas are very small and each table is very close by. It's impossible not to touch your neighbours, let alone be overheard.
The food was absolutely delicious as always, but the service was absolutely appauling. My partner got in ahead of me and was seated at the back of the restaurant at a tiny table right next to the window. As it was quite chilly near the window he asked to be reseated elsewhere, which to he was told no as the restaurant was too busy. Overall service was very poor, with several people getting the wrong dishes to what they ordered around us. Service people never smiled, and were just unfriendly.
Food perfect. Waitress lovelly. Cleanliness not so good. Was quickly seated upstairs which was completely souless. At least the food was quick which was important as we had a date with the Albert Hall. The room we were sat in was near the toilets upstairs and it was grubby, dead and no atmosphere.
Thai Square offers average Thai food. Service was prompt and powerful air conditioning very much appreciated.

I would have expected more from Thai Square, simply because of its reputation. We ordered the chef's recommended seafood dish which was pretty good - nice and fresh and good flavours - but the red curry was ordinary and the golden sacks were cold. Overall all meals were luke warm in temperature, not what I'd expect from a restaurant in South Kensington. Would I go back? Probably not.
This is well placed as a restaurant, and one of many Thai Squares. The service is slow, the staff's English isn't very good, but the food and wine is ok. With going to the Proms, you are limited as to where to eat so we tend to go there on the way.
